According to the announcements published on November 4 and 5, 2020 by Chinese embassies, foreign nationals from certain worst-hit countries by covid-19 are temporarily forbidden from entering China, including the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Russia, the Philippines, India, Ukraine, and Bangladesh. Those who are in urgent cases can apply for a special visa at the Chinese embassies in order to enter China.

Since 0 am. September 28, 2020, it is allowed for foreign visitors who hold valid Chinese residence permits to enter China for three purposes, which is for work, for personal matters, and for a reunion. For those whose permits had been expired since 0 a.m. 28 March, if they don’t change the purpose to China, they can apply for new visas with the expired visa and relevant materials.

3 night Dang-Dang bus routes have been put into use in Beijing since August 27, 2020 to serve passengers, offering a good opportunity to enjoy the spectacular night views of the city. The 3 routes are respectively Chang’an Avenue Line to pass through China World Trade Center CBD, CITIC Tower, Zhongnanhai; South Central Axis Line along Tiananmen Square, the Great Hall of the People, Beijing Railway Station; and East Line through Sanlitun and Shichahai.

From July 20, 2020 on, China has required all the overseas passengers who leave for China to take a nucleic acid test for COVID-19 within 5 days before boarding the flight and the test should be carried out in the medical institutions designated by Chinese embassies and consulates. The measure is to mitigate the virus transmission across the border.

At the 209th session of the Executive Board of UNESCO on July 7, Xiangxi Geopark in Hunan Province and Zhangye Geopark in Gansu Province have been declared the UNESCO Global Geoparks and China’s total global geoparks have reached 41, accounting a quarter of the word’s total 161. There will be altogether 15 sites to join at this session.

China opened the world’s deepest and largest high speed railway station on December 30 in 2019 together with the adoption of new train timetable. The 102m (335ft) underground Badaling Great Wall Station is only about 200 meters to the famous Badaling Great Wall. In addition to this newly opened railway station, Beijing – Zhangjiakou, Zhangjiakou – Datong, Zhangjiakou – Hohhot and many other railways have been opened on the same day.
