The 2016 Hangzhou G20 Summit will take place on September 4 and 5 this year. Hangzhou Government has taken a series of measures to enhance the security level. From August 28 to September 7, tourist groups organized by travel agencies will not be received because of the possible control over some roads and attractions. However, individual travelers are still able to make the trip.

On the 40th session of the World Heritage Convention opened on July 10, 2016, 29 sites were nominated for UNESCO World Heritage. Among them, two are from China. One is Shennongjia Nature Reserve in Shiyan city, Hubei Province, and the other is Huashan Rock Paintings in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The session will last for 11 days. During the period, the World Heritage Committee will decide which sites to be added to the World Heritage List and discuss the protection status of some endangered heritage sites.

Recently, China has entered the annual rainy season. In some provinces, the bad weather has caused tremendous damage to crops, outdoor facilities, and houses. In addition, some tourist attractions have been temporarily closed for tourist’s safety concern. According to weather forecasts, the storms will last till late June. On May 15, 2016, China has carried out the largest-scale train schedule adjustments in recent 10 years. With such adjustments, over 100 pairs of bullet trains are added. 69 rail routes are planned to connect tourist destinations. Morning and night high speed trains are adopted for the first time. Besides, 38 county-level stations have become originating stations for some routes.

As Shanghai Disneyland Park is going to open on June 16, 2016, many visitors are now trying to get an admission ticket for the park. Since April 10, 2016, tourists do not need to pay the admission fee for Phoenix Ancient Town any more. They just need to buy the tickets for the inside scenic spots they wish to visit. In 2003, the local government started to impose the admission fee to collect fund to maintain the town and to reduce the environmental and transportation pressures caused by the over-crowded tourists. But the policy has brought more bad influences than good influences to the town. Now, it cancels the admission fee to welcome more visitors.

On March 5th, 2016, with the toot of its whistle, the tourism train Y121 sets off its first journey from Beijing to explore flower seas. Passengers can not only enjoy the scenery out of the window, but also hop off when passing by a scenic spot. Beijing Railway Corporation has announced to run more than 100 tourism trains in 2016.

As the 2016 Chinese New Year put to an end, students and workers are now returning to school and jobs. Since February 12, the return peak of the Spring Festival Travel Rush reaches. The railway system in China sent 10.33 million passengers on February 13, increased by 9.1% over the same period in 2015. It is predicted that the travel rush will last for about 20 more days, till March 3rd.

In recent days, most parts of China have been hit by a cold wave, accompanying by heavy rain and snow. For the safety of tourists, many scenic spots have been closed temporarily.
