China Intercity High Speed Trains

To make the travel among the large and busy cities more convenient, China has constructed intercity high speed railways, which carry frequent bullet trains every day just like city buses or subways do.

These high speed trains relieve the transportation pressure during high travel seasons.

Below are some major intercity high speed rail lines that have been put into use:

 Beijing-Tianjin (Jingjin) Railway 
It connects Beijing South and Tianjin. For the whole journey of 74 mi (120 km), it only takes about half an hour. Every day trains are very frequently scheduled from 06:30 to 23:00 every 5-10 minutes. Upon arrival at Beijing South, passengers can easily transfer to subway line 4. For passengers getting off at Tianjin, they can conveniently transfer to subway line 2, 3 and 9.

 Shanghai-Nanjing (Huning) Railway 
It connects Shanghai or Shanghai Hongqiao and Nanjing via Wuxi, Suzhou, Changzhou and others. At present, more than 50 pairs of bullet trains make the journey and the interval is within 10 minutes.

 Nanjing-Hangzhou (Ninghang) Railway 
The journey can now be finished in about 2 hours. The 155 mi (249 km) rail line has 11 stations, including Nanjing South, Jiangning East, Huzhou and Hangzhou East.

 Guangzhou-Shenzhen (Guangshen) Railway 

First Class Seats

It is a part of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong (Guangshengang) High Speed Rail Line. Covering 65 mi (105 km), it connects Guangzhou South and Shenzhen North via Humen. On this line, about 90 highballs run for single journey every day and the shortest interval is within 5 minutes.

 Guangzhou-Zhuhai (Guangzhu) Railway 
It can take passengers for the journey in around 70min. It passes through Guangzhou South, Shunde, Zhongshan, Zhuhai Gongbei.

 Chengdu-Dujiangyan (Chengguan) Railway   
It starts from Chengdu North and ends at Mt. Qingcheng town, Dujiangyan. Upon arrival at Chengdu North, passengers can easily transfer to the local subway line 2 at Xipu Subway Station.

 Hainan Eastern Ring Railway  
It connects Haikou and Sanya and passes through Wenchang, Qionghaiand, Wanning and Lingshui Li Nationality Autonomous County. It forms Hainan island roundabout railroad together with the local Western Ring Rail Line.

 Nanchang-Jiujiang (Changjiu) Railway  
It connects Jiujiang and Nanchang North via Lushan and other stations in Jiangxi Province.

 Changchun-Jilin (Changji) Railway  
Its major stations are Changchun, Longjia Airport and Jilin. A direct train on the rail reaches its destination within half an hour. From 06:00 to 22:00 every day, trains operate very frequently and the shortest interval is only 4min.

 Tianjin-Qinhuangdao (Jinqin) Railway  
This service begins in May, 2013. It allows the travel from Tianjin to Tangshan to be achieved within 30 min and from Tianjin to Qinhuangdao, it takes only 50 min. Tianjin, Tianjin Binhai New Area, Tangshan, Beidaihe and Qinhuangdao are the main stations.

 Qinhuangdao-Shenyang (Qinshen) Railway  
It is China's first high speed rail, which laid solid foundation for the development of China's high speed railway.

Aside from the above ones, Hangzhou-Huangshan (Hanghuang) Railway and Chengdu-Chongqing (Chengyu) Railway, both of which are still under construction, will also play very important roles.
