Sorry, you need to apply in your home country if you are not a legal long-term resident in Japan.

Sorry, you can't. But you can utilize the 144h visa free transit to get 6 days' visa free entry to major tourist cities in Mainland China, check details on this page: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/visa/free-transit-144-hours.htm

The thing is the 144-hour visa-free policy only allows you to stay in one transit area. To travel around in China, you need to apply for a visa in advance.

Chinese Visa application as German citizen in Japan
As a German citizen currently studying in Japan (with a study visa), can i do the process to get a Chinese study visa (X2) or Family member of foreigner visa (S2) in Tokyo´s Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC)?

I am planning to do a 4 month internship in China.
