Urumqi South Railway Station
From Urumqi South Railway Station, passengers can reach Beijing, Xi'an, Lanzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou and other cities. Built in 1962, the train station is the essential point of the second Eurasian Continental Bridge, and also one of the most important railway stations in Xinjiang. Rail lines going through there include Lanxin (Lanzhou - Alashankou) Line, Southern Xinjiang (Turpan - Kashgar) Line, and Northern Xinjiang (Urumqi - Alashankou) Line.

Urumqi South Train Station mainly consists of a 3-storey terminal building and a front square:
Square:
City bus stop is located at the northeast corner of the square; from the stop passengers can go to Red Hill Park and the International Grand Bazaar. Some restaurants, hotels, bars, shops are situated around the square, especially on the north and south side. For taxi service, one can find the taxi stand in front of the Eurasian Hotel (located near the self-service ticket office), or the area in front of the station exit.

1F: Service Center, No. 1 waiting room, Waiting room for passengers who have special demands, Ticket office (The bigger one is for normal use, and the small one is an emergency ticket office), Left luggage office
2F: No. 2 waiting room, No. 3 waiting room, Soft seat / sleeper waiting room, Service Center, Smoking room, Stores
3F: No. 4 waiting room, No. 5 waiting room, Smoking room, Stores
Reception desk, wash room, drinking water room, smoking rooms, convenience stores, escalators as well as walking stairway are accessible on each floor.
A Left Luggage service is available at the station, to the left of railway exit. The service fee depends on the size of one’s luggage. Generally speaking, it is CNY5 to CNY20 per day.
How to get to the Urumqi Railway Station:
By bus:
Take bus no. K2, 8, 10, 16, 20, 21, 36, 44, 52, 58, 62, 157, 531, 902, 903, 905, 906, 909, 914, 915, 927, BRT-1, and get off at South Railway Station.
By taxi:
It takes 30 minutes and costs CNY 60 from West Railway Station.
It takes 15 minutes and costs CNY 25 from Urumqi Railway Station.
It takes 30 minutes and costs CNY 50 from Urumqi Diwopu International Airport.
How to get to famous tourism sites and other stations:
1. Red Hill:
Take bus no. 927 and get off at Red Hill Park. After getting off, walk southward to get there.
2. Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar:
Take bus no. 10 or 16 and get off at Erdaoqiao.
3. Xinjiang Regional Museum:
Take bus No. 906 and get off at the museum.
4. Diwopu International Airport:
Take the airport shuttle bus from the railway station. Ticket fare is CNY15.
5. Urumqi Railway Station:
Take bus no. K2 to the get there at a cost of CNY5.

00ReplyYes, sure. Generally, luggage service is available at almost every station. The luggage can be kept for about 2 days, they are charged by their size, from CNY2 to CNY10 per piece per day.

00ReplyI think you may need to go to Nanjiao Bus Station instead for the bus to Nanshan (or Baiyanggou). I do not know if there is bus from Nianzigou bus station.

Which is the nearest metro station to South Station? Can I walk there or need another bus or taxi?

00ReplyIf you want to use the metro service, you can only get off at Erdaoqiao which is still around 4km away from the railway station. You can then use a taxi to the station or bus No. 16 or 10.

K1504 departs from Urumqi Railway Station at 23:32pm. The station is named by city name, at No. 1, North 6th Gaotie Road, Economic and Technological Development Zone, Toutunhe District. It is not South Railway Station.
