Hainan Visa on Arrival in Trial Phase

According to related regulations, 30-day Hainan VOA can be issued at available ports in Haikou and Sanya, and it permits holders to exit China from other Chinese cities. Also, it can be extended if the holder wishes to stay longer in China.

However, it has not been proved practical because it is still in “trial” phase. We are waiting for more feedbacks.

According to recent cases, some tourists got the 30-day access without joining a tour by Hainan agencies. But the round trip flight ticket and hotel reservation are necessary to apply for it. You don't need to fill the landing card.

Is there a limit to how many times you can use the 30-day visa free access in a year, and if so, how long do you need to wat before you can visit Hainan again?

If you plan to travel on your own, just list the itinerary as you plan.
If you plan to join a group, ask for the itinerary from the travel agency.
